Sketches of a trip 2016/17. Asmara: Segen Eritrean Artists Group

At the invitation of Berhane Adonai, the renowned Eritrean artist, I visited Segen Eritrean Artist Group: a de facto art school in Asmara, Eritrea. The day I visited the school, Berhane Adonai was teaching the upcoming young Eritrean artists, the concept of color. The young students varied in ages between 12- 15. I had seen some of the students a day earlier at Professor La Duke's lecture.

Segen  is created as a space for young talented Eritrean artists to grow. The artwork of the teachers and the school can be seen throughout  Eritrea, on buses, billboards, posters, postcards and etc.

Below, I am happy to present samples of the work produced by Segen Eritrean Artists Group.
