ERITREA: FIREWOOD
San Jose State University's Global Studies Department every year asks photo contestants to present three pictures (if a winner, one will be picked) which are taken within the year that the contest is held. The winning pictures in each category are then framed and hang on the wall of the deptartment. The winning picture in one of the categories for 2006 is a photograph (Eritrea: Firewood) that I took on the Asmara-Massawa road. "Firewood " will continue to adorn the wall of Global Studies Department until the end of 2007, however, the picture is permanently displayed on the department's website:
